"Our students need to be supported during this time in their life, and we want to be there and support them in the best way possible." – Bobbie Bernard, Hawkins Elementary Principal. 💙
Teachers confront issues of grief and loss every day. To ensure our students are fully supported, Carters Valley Elementary, Hawkins Elementary, and Joseph Rogers Primary recently underwent training to become designated "Grief-Sensitive Schools" by the New York Life Foundation! In addition to the training, each school received a $500 grant.
They proudly join Mt. Carmel, Mooresburg, and Church Hill Middle in this initiative. Director Matt Hixson is challenging all HCS schools to get trained so we can continue to be a safe, supportive space for students in difficult times.

We would like to say a special thank you to the following people for making our Touch a Truck day special for our students. We heard several times "we are doing this for the students", this is what Carter's Valley Elementary is all about, our students. Again, thank you!
