District Announcement: Hawkins County School District is excited to offer Summer Learning Camps this summer for our students who will be Rising 1st-9th graders.
Summer Learning Camp will take place for four weeks, four days a week, between May 26 - June 18 from 7:30-2:30 p.m.
Parents will be notified of acceptance before the start of summer camp. This form is for planning and informational purposes only, final registration forms will be sent home in the spring.

Good afternoon CVES families,
We are starting our annual candy bar sale today, Thursday, February 26, 2026, and it will end on March 13, 2026. Your student will be coming home with all the information along with a permission slip for you to sign if you would like your student to participate. If you choose to sign, you are responsible for the entire box of chocolates, which is 40 bars at $2.00 each for a total of $80.00. We cannot accept partial payment or returned opened boxes. You will need to return the entire amount of $80.00. You are more than welcome to sell more than one box, but only one out unpaid at a time. If you would like more to sell, return the full $80.00 in the enclosed envelope and sign the back to get another to sell. There are prizes for each box sold along with some freebies for your student to enjoy. There is also a top seller cash prize and a top room pizza party.

Hawkins County Schools will operate on a two hour delay today, February 24 at all schools except Clinch School. Clinch School will be closed.
Due to overnight snowfall, Hawkins County Schools will be closed Monday, February 23, 2026.

Carter’s Valley Elementary celebrated our Fearless Principals Monday February 9th. They were given lunch out, lots of notes, posters, and thank yous, along with their names on the marquee and baskets full of goodies from our staff. We are truly blessed to be led by those who have children’s wellbeing and success as a #1 priority. Their support and dedication are appreciated 110% daily! 🗡️

Just a reminder that dance ticket money and concessions money is due this Friday February 13. We request exact change for each. We will not
be selling tickets or concessions after 2/13.
Remember to send your student's Reading for Education lanyards back tomorrow. These were sent home the last day we attended. There are instructions on the card as to how to sign up. You can scan the QR code or go to RFE.net. After you complete all the steps and send out the email invitations, you will receive a prize code. Please fill out their card with student name, grade and teacher along with their prize code and return to school for your student to receive a book buddy. Thanks so much for participating in this fundraiser to benefit our school.

District Announcement: Hawkins County Schools will continue to be closed on Thursday, February 5 and Friday, February 6, due to unsafe secondary roads. Although the recent rain and warming temperatures have helped improve some of the road conditions, 80-85% of our secondary routes remain unsafe for bus travel. Due to warming temperatures and sunshine forecast over the weekend and into next week, we aim to open schools and run buses on clear routes beginning Monday. If this plan changes, we will send and post updates. Please refer to the HCS Bus Changes page: https://www.hck12.net/o/hcsd/page/buses for updates to our roads and affected routes.
