The Muse of Knoxville recently visited Carter’s Valley Elementary for a Parent Engagement night.
The Muse — a children’s science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) museum — provided stations in the school’s cafeteria for students to rotate through. Students got to make and take STEM activities.
The Muse also brought a mobile planetarium in which the students got to watch a presentation.
Hawkins County School System’s “Word on Wheels” mobile library bus was also on campus, and each child got to leave with a free book to take home.
As an added bonus, “Archie” — the district’s emotional support dog — was on hand to welcome students to the event.
Carter’s Valley Elementary School appreciated the visit from The Muse, which provided the program for free because the school receives Title 1 federal funding.
